Falling into Winter

This exhibit presents a series of suiseki (viewing stones) in thematic groupings to evoke the change of seasons from early fall to late winter—complementing our fall and winter bonsai exhibits.

January 6 – 18, 2018: Special Exhibits Wing

Winter is the best time to enjoy the true mastery of the art of bonsai by observing the “bare bones” of the trees. With no leaves, the structure of a deciduous bonsai reveals how well the artist has created a miniaturized version of nature. Come see this indoor exhibition in our Special Exhibits Wing.
